Bulletin Board

In January of 2010 Mike was honored to receive the “Distinguished Graduate Student Award” for outstanding academic achievement from the University of Arizona, College of Fine Arts, School of Music Advisory Board. This is the highest award given to a graduate student.

Mike recently had two textbook reviews appear in the 2009 issue of the Music & Entertainment Industry Educators Association Journal. The texts reviewed were Straight Ahead by Marty Khan and Artist Development by Eugene Foley. [Read the Reviews]

Mr. Keepe has also been asked to review The Legendary Saxophonists Collection for The Saxophone Symposium and the textbook The Birth of the Cool of Miles Davis and His Associates for the journal of The Society of American Composers to be released later this year.

There are plans to record Pamela Decker’s Elegy and Dances for alto saxophone and pipe organ in the near future for the world renowned organist’s next album on the Loft recording label.

This summer The Rodriguez & Keepe Duo begin work on their first album release entitled Alba.
